...but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience and patience, experience; and experience, hope:                      Romans 5: 3-4

It is good for a man that he bear the yoke in his youth. ~Lamentations 3:27

I was heading up a new program at the Training Center. It was called the Alpha Team, needless to say, there was never a Beta Team. We took seven troubled teen girls and put them together in an apartment with myself and another mentor. The program didn't go at all like I had planned.

The girls made things very difficult and one by one they started dropping out of the program. As each one left, and with each new confrontation I felt more and more like a failure.

Finally I began to understand. The Lord wanted me to see that I couldn't do it, but I didn't have to. He wanted me to understand that just because the project failed, I was not a failure. The Lord was pleased with every effort that I was making. He was not concerned with the success or failure of the project. He wanted my heart.
