Roots
And if in anything ye be otherwise minded God shall reveal even this unto you.
I heard about bilberry trees. How when you cut them down, they send up new shoots from the roots. Soon your whole lawn is full of these shoots. You can keep chopping away at the shoots or you can kill the roots and take care of the problem once and for all.
The Lord showed me that I can continue to swat at the surface problems that keep cropping up or I can do the harder thing and deal with the roots. Its much more painful but it fees me to live instead of being in bondage to my shoots.
